The eight synthesizer compositions that Ronald Steckel and Heiko Rüsse produced as part of a three-year research project are of impressive and timeless beauty. The sound material is unusual: for example, the sound of a wolf or the creaking of a door is "transmuted" into the special sound of which these meditative, largely harmonic and tonal pieces are composed. Demonstrating that such things can be transformed nonetheless points to the inability to transform the atman, the timeless "innermost ego."
