Further information on the advanced power search
For example, if you enter "folk for violin" or "violin for folk" in the title field, you are given the matching title "Folk for Violin" because you are searching for items containing ALL search words.
If you wish to refine your search in our program, use the so-called search operators:
  • NOT operator: A minus "-" IN FRONT of a search word means that said search word is excluded from your search. Example: The title search for "folk -violin" returns all titles containing "folk" but not containing the word "violin". 
  • TRUNCATION operator: An asterisk "*" BEHIND the search word tells the search engine to look for all compound words matching the search word or base characters before the asterisk, ignoring any trailing characters. Example: The search for "harp*" in the instrument/ instrumentation field also returns "harps" or "harpsichord".
